GCSP Application Process
Sophomore Year
- Talk to the faculty mentor in your major department about GCSP
- Apply and interview for the GCSP
Junior Year
- Meet with departmental faculty mentor at least twice (fall and spring)
- Submit first progress report at end of junior year outlining
- the requirements completed so far
- plan to complete all additional requirements
- description of how work fits into the GC themes
Senior Year
- Meet with departmental faculty mentor at least twice (fall and spring)
- Submit second progress report in January of senior year including
- updates to first progress report
- reflection on GC Scholar experience
- Complete the 5 GCSP Competencies (2 high, 2 medium, 1 low) by graduation and submit a final portfolio
Application
Scholars will be selected on the basis of their past performance, potential to complete all of the GCSP requirements, and enthusiasm for being part of a cohort of Scholars. Although the application form includes questions about the student’s GPA, these values will be considered along with the other accomplishments and potential achievements of the student, as well as their demonstrated interest in the Grand Challenges themes.
How to Apply
Students will submit an application as well as complete an interview with members of the GCSP Steering Committee.
